wet sheets soaking in sink self-portrait shadow tenement tilt tape reels no tape marquee climax more demure indoors the howard towering cloud envy bum to bumper bland slats brambles touching orange toys a passing third a trapdoor opens from the forest floor childhood pavilion blurred trees a watched saucepan seldom burns the finger striped shirt lost in thought refrigerator fidgets crowning furniture the greening night headlights like angels orbs along the highway desolate a

railroad crossing coffee shop aurora like a portal glared at working dinosaur the night shift is still relative pop hospitality who brought her tea set shirtless standing in a garbage pale ménage à trois staring across the steering wheel for blocks parting a sea of midtown thrift an open awning on a gaping maw body in mirror looming closer than the bookstore curtain cumulous construction pixelated tier sleep anywhere you like but here flail quickly tricky wristwatch peering jealously between those parting slats

pink industry blue leisure our america in silhouette an infrared fart like any good developer you turn the photo of a building sideways as though making to shake out inhabitants faced east at four o’clock our shadow leads nobody sneaks on us in this direction rays grace rags flagging robots in the gallery we click each little heart like connoisseurs robed figure in the mirror floral wallpaper for witch’s hat or hut slow-shutter smear us all in a concerted crouch beside which bedside spectacle

how cigarettes eroticize the wrist a row of cars the woven chair placed for platonic pda upon a beaming terrace in the universal mind shot from all sides cracked carapace of fable faceless windshield mountain florets on a pointing tree directing traffic a lot happens in the parking lot midday applying makeup rolling cigarettes assume the backseat spurned accomplice clover water over boulder our new neighbour burying a borrowed kettle flowers beautify whatever picky fence

Through a practice of focused listening and attention to light shapes, Kelsey Braun seeks a coincidental poetry. Kelsey utilizes techniques in field recording and photography, either separate or simultaneous and often toward a process of re-contextualization, to create durational experiences.

Cam Scott is a poet, critic, and improvising non-musician from Winnipeg, Canada, Treaty One territory. A suite of visual poetry, WRESTLERS, was published by Greying Ghost in 2017. He performs under the name Cold-catcher and with Kelsey Braun as one-half of the duo Swolowes.
