Speak, before the cadence
of frost sifts, our lines
arrested—in dreams
I have laid mute, heaving
winter’s cradle as crushed
words rippling across
your end of the trajectory.
In the shade you stand,
quiver as ink curls
as the wishes I once held,
a monochrome like-
ness to veil you upon—
