He has been active in improvised and experimental music and dance in the Baltimore-Washington area since the early 2000s. Jeff Surak is a veteran experimenter from Washington, DC, having created challenging music and sound art since the early 1980s. Currently Surak performs under his own name, operating in the netherworld between composed and improvised music, moving between musique concrete, drone, noise, & free improvisation using whatever sound implements are at hand. He has collaborated with such artists as Alexei Borisov, Frans de Waard, Zan Hoffman, Rinus Van Alebeek, and Michael Gendreau. Surak runs the Zeromoon label and from 2005-2018 he directed the annual Sonic Circuits Festival of Experimental Music in Washington DC, presenting performances by a wide range of international, national and local artists.

Dennis Kane is a composer and multi-instrumentalist from Washington, DC. His work is informed equally by early classical, electronic and minimal music, and highlights his love of contrasts; melody and repetition, acoustic and electronic instruments, form and formless.
