B a r b i e r o
Daniel Barbiero is a double bassist, composer and writer in the Washington DC area. He writes on the art, music and literature of the classic avant-gardes of the 20th century and on contemporary work. He is a regular contributor to Avant Music News, Perfect Sound Forever and Percorsi Musicali. As a performer of non-conventionally notated contemporary works, he has recorded or realized scores by composers Alexis Porfiriadis, Makoto Nomura, Silvia Corda, Didier Guigue, and others. As a composer, he has had his scores realized by 6daEXIt, The X=/=X Ensemble, The Subtle Body Transmission Orchestra, double bassist Michele Bondesan, OpusNovus, The Nancy Havlik Dance Performance Group, cellist Gary Rouzer, double bassist George Kokkinaris, and others.
